In 2009 John McGuin began his impressive career as a fighter. He started his training learning American Kickboxing from his coach and corner-man, Dann Weed. Dann is a Chung Do Kwan martial artist and has dedicated his life to mastering the art of striking. This kicked off John’s successful career as an undefeated amateur fighter.
John’s hard work and impressive record led to a personal invitation to train at BlackHouse MMA and become a part of Team BlackHouse. Becoming a BlackHouse fighter is a huge honor in a fighters career due to the fact that you must receive this personal invite from the gym itself in order to join their team. While at BlackHouse John got the opportunity to train alongside and spar with some of the biggest names in MMA. These include: Lyoto Machida, Anderson Silva, Brian Ortega, and Pedro Muhnoz.
BlackHouse is known for having and training some of the best athletes in the world. Athletes such as, Roger Gracie, Patricio Pitbull, Makenzie Dern, Andre Galvao, Glover Teixeira, Kevin Casey, and the list goes on.
In 2017 John began his career as a professional fighter. His current professional record stands at 1-1.
John is excited to share and pass on the skills, knowledge, and technique he has gained over the years. He welcomes everyone to come in and learn some of the key fundamentals of striking.
7oz gloves (minimum) and mouth guard are required.
